July 2016

The beginning of July found John feeling patriotic.  He decided to make a flagpole out of PVC from a post I saw on Pinterest.  As soon as he had the flag flying, a fellow RVer asked him where he got it.  It's a very clever design because the PVC sits on a metal washer on the ground so when the wind blows the flag twirls around instead of wrapping around the pole.  Ready for the 4th of July!

On July 3 went to Havre de Grace for their holiday parade.  We did not stay for the fireworks show because the parade was at 3:00 pm and the fireworks were at 9:00 pm.  The parade was fun.

The next day we planned on going to a fireworks show in Bel Air, Maryland but it was cancelled because the 4th of July was rainy.  Fortunately when we went to the Aberdeen Ironbirds minor league baseball game a week later we also saw their rescheduled fireworks! And it was $1 hot dog night!

Sad News

On July 19, 2016 I received a phone call from my mother's doctor.   My mother had become ill.  We planned on staying a while in San Antonio so we drove and towed the fifth wheel to San Antonio.  Unfortunately my mother passed away after we were 3 hours on the road.  She would have been 96 years old on September 7.  She used to call me every day after dinner just to say hello.  I miss her every day.  Thank you to our son and daughter-in-law in San Antonio for all their help and support during that difficult time and to our son from Baltimore for flying in for the funeral and staying with us a few days.   Thanks also to my cousins and aunt and uncle for everything they did.
