Goodbye Kentucky!

We really enjoyed our 3 weeks in Kentucky, especially the Lexington area.  I had no idea there was so much to see and do here.  We could easily spend another week here and have plenty to do.  The horses, farms, and historic buildings are beautiful.  I highly recommend the Bourbon Trail.  Even though all bourbon is made the same way, we learned something new at each distillery.  I'm sure we'll visit again but next time we'll make sure to skip the snow!  The average high for March is 56 and average snowfall for March is 1".  During our stay most of the highs were in the 40s and it snowed 3 times for a total of about 7-8"!!

On the Bourbon Trail we drove through many charming historic towns.

Midway is unique because it has a train track running down the middle of Main St.

While here we also enjoyed a visit with cousin Lisa, her fiancé Jason, her daughter Celine, and her boyfriend Matt.  We had a fun night of dinner at a barbeque restaurant and playing Family Feud.  We came in 3rd place so Celine won a gift card to the restaurant!

Our departure was delayed by 1 day because a winter storm brought snow to our area and all along the route to Baltimore.  We are expecting 2-4", Baltimore could get 8-12".  We decided to play it safe and not worry about driving on snowy, small, winding, 2-lane country roads.

The ducks don't seem to mind the cold and snow

It was snowing when we went for our walk

On Thursday March 22 we head for Baltimore to spend time with Stephen, Andrea, and grandson Holden.  Our new grandson will be arriving soon!
