Before hitting the road again we decided to visit downtown San Antonio. We spent the day visiting the Alamo, walking along the River Walk, and taking pictures of most of the flags that were flying above downtown buildings.

Flags, Flags, Flags!
We were struck by the number of buildings in downtown San Antonio that had US and Texas flags flying and by the interesting architecture. Here are some of examples.

We also walked a part of Hardberger Park off N.W. Military Dr. that we had never been to before.

When the weather turned a little cooler, I made some bread from scratch and a big crockpot of beef vegetable soup. I love bone marrow!
We will miss San Antonio family and friends but it's time to hit the road. For 2017 we plan on visiting Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and crisscrossing the northeast as far as Maine.
First up--Orange Beach, Alabama for a month!
