On the way to Petrolia, we stopped for one night at the KOA in Bradford, PA. It was a very rustic campground with no Wi-Fi and no cable tv. It was surrounded by trees and woods. We were the only ones there for the night except for 3 other rigs and they looked like they were permanent residents. As we were pulling in we saw this sign...

Wait--is that a bear crossing sign!!!!

When we were checking in I noticed the bear in the corner of the office...

Stuffed, thank goodness! |
Also in the office were 2 photos. I jokingly asked the manager if they had bears in the area. He said one of the photos was of his son and grandson with the bear they killed during a bear hunt. Turns out Bradford County is one of the top destinations for bear hunters. In 2017 hunters killed 3,438 black bears during the hunting seasons.
I asked him if bears come into the campground and he said he'd been there for 35 years and if you leave the bears alone they tend to leave you alone...

Bear in campground carrying bag of garbage |
Our campsite was very pretty, nice and large with many trees, but let me tell you--I did NOT go outside once we were set up for the night!
Next stop Petrolia...
